Youth Enjoy A Night Of Gigging

Perfect weather, food, and fellowship was shared with local youth on Elk River as they took turns at the front of boats trying to gig fish at night. Aided by the use of generators and electric lights, the kids had a blast thrusting 15 foot gig poles at the elusive fish. Laughter, squeals of excitement, and loud congratulatory remarks echoed throughout the night. The event kicked of with a tasty fish fry, fried potatoes, plus side items and drinks. All the kids eagerly volunteered to help unload the gear, light the lanterns, and gather wood and built the campfire. They even pitched in to slice potatoes. One of the parents surveyed “These kids did a great job…wish mine was this eager to work like that at home!”
